About us
Brackenslack Shepherd’s Huts is a family-run retreat, lovingly managed by Lizzie and Kevin alongside their three young children. Nestled on their working farm in the heart of the Eden Valley, Cumbria, this hidden gem is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. In 2016, the area became part of the Westmorland Dales, a recognition of its stunning landscapes and unspoiled charm, making it a truly special place to escape and unwind.
We love where we live and what the area has to offer and can’t wait to share it with you all.
The Area
Located only a short distance from the historic market town of Appleby-in-Westmorland with great amenities. Nestled in between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Park.
We are also lucky to have some stunning event and wedding venues on our doorstep. Only a stone’s throw from the stunning award-winning Wedding venue, Holesfoot. Also, just a 5-minute drive away is the beautiful Long Acre Barn, Kings Meaburn.

Brackenslack Shepherd’s Huts are situated on our quiet, rural, family farm, only a 10-minute from the historic market town of Appleby-in-Westmorland, with its many traditional shops, tearooms, pubs and castle. We are conveniently located 20 minutes from the M6 and 10 minutes from the A66.
